In Northeast Minnesota, the town of Ely lies at the edge of one of the most pristine and accessible wilderness areas in North America. Ely is occupied by a unique blend of artist, adventurers and rugged individualist. Go to Ely to meet a National Geographic photographer, an adventurer who took his bride to the North Pole by dog sled. Bob Dylan and Judy Garland were both born in small towns near Ely.
My process includes creating an acrylic wash to inspire the background, followed by a digital painting done using many transparent layers. I adjust the order and transparency of the layers until I get just the effect that I want and freeze it into a file for printing.
Each print is made after you place your order, using archival inks on archival water color paper with a white border displaying the quality paper.
